La Val

La Val – the quiet locality

La Val – the quiet locality

La Val is a small village of Val Badia, in which tourism is closely linked to handicraft and especially to agriculture. Its position renders La Val an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions in summer. In winter there are plenty of groomed trails for hiking and sledging. The skiing area and cross country slopes of Alta Badia and Plan de Corones are just a few miles away.

S. Barbara Chapel – Altwengen – Les viles

La Val is made up of numerous hamlets (in Ladin language = viles) which are based on agriculture. The S. Barbara Chapel and the first church of La Val (Altwengen), of which there is only the tower left, are characteristic for the shape of our village.

La Val is situated in the heart of the Dolomites.
You can enjoy an idyllic view of the Pütia and Sas dla Crusc.
The nearby Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park and Puez-Odle nature park offer exciting hikes and spectacular nature. You can reach the Armentara pastures and La Crusc hospice at the foot of the Sas dla Crusc in a short hike starting at the last car park.
